Paista 175 asteessa noin 20-30 minuuttia kunnes pinta on kullanruskea. Anna hetki jäähtyä ja leikkaa sopivan kokoinen levy joka sopii asetettavaksi leipävuoan pinnalle kun vuoka on täytetty sekä ota sydänmuotilla sydämiä niin monta että mahtuvat vuokaan vierekkäin ja että reunoille jää tyhjää tilaa täytteelle. Kostuta kaikki palat vedellä sutimalla pullasudilla kevyesti.</span></div>

Purista liivatteista ylimääräinen vesi, kiehuta 1 rkl vettä kattilassa ja sulata siihen liivatteet laskemalla ne hitaasti kädestä kattilan kulmassa olevaan kuumaan vesitilkkaan. Kaada liivateneste ohuena nauhana täytteeseen samalla sekoittaen sähkövatkaimella.</span></div>

Vatkaa voi ja sokeri kuohkeaksi. Lisää munat ja vaniljasokeri ja sekoita hyvin yleiskoneella tai tehosekoittimella. Jos taikina juoksettuu eli muuttuu rakeiseksi, se ei haittaa, jatka vain eteenpäin. Sekoita leivinjauhe vehnäjauhoihin. Sekoita jauhot taikinaan vuorotellen maidon kanssa varovasti.<br />

Sekoita kolmasosaan taikinasta kaakao ja rommi. Kaada puolet vaaleasta taikinasta leivinpaperoituun leipävuokaan ja sitten päälle tumma taikina ja vielä loppu vaalea taikina päällimmäiseksi. Tee lopuksi raidat veitsellä pyörittelemällä sitä rauhallisesti taikinassa läpi kakun vaaka ja pystysuunnassa sekä ylöspäin. Paista kakkua noin 30-35 minuuttia 175 asteessa. Kokeile kypsyys hammastikulla. Anna jäähtyä vuoassaan.<br />

Nyt sain vihdoin sellaisen aikaiseksi. Kakku matkasi kanssamme mökille, jossa sitä saivat maistella appivanhempani sekä miehen sisko ja hänen tyttärensä.</span><br />

Leipä maistui saunan jälkeen älyttömän hyvältä, runsaan siirapin takia maku oli jouluisen makea ja siihen oli tullut limppumainen sitkeä ohut kuori. Voin ja juuston kera täydellinen iltapala.<div>

Revi vähän löysästä taikinasta paloja leivinpaperoituun leipävuokaan joka puolelle tasaisesti. Anna kohota noin 40 minuuttia. Paista 225 asteessa noin 25 minuuttia. Anna seistä hetki vuoassa. Nosta leipä pois vuoasta. Anna lämmön tasaantua vielä hetki ennen viipalointia.</div>
